In a study on aggression, a group of troubled middle school students were given three months of martial arts training, and were later evaluated for impulsiveness, resistance to rules, self-concept and inappropriate behavior. Every student in the study improved emotionally, showing less aggression towards authority figures and a healthier self-concept.

Psychotherapeutic Supplementation 

The martial arts can no longer be viewed as just a way to kick some butt, and protect yourself from harm.
